You've faxed in your cover letter and resume, and have been asked in for an interview. Unfortunately, the interview is a component of the process of landing any job, and this process is never easy. Thankfully there are a few things you can easily do to prepare for the interview so that you will be able to impress your future employer.nnIf you haven't done so already, research the company. Know its mission statement, its core values, and at least the goals for the department you will be applying for. From this information, put together a list of intelligent questions which will be able to clarify your future duties, which in turn, enables you to better relate your skill set to the needs of the company.nnDress to please. Make it a point that you're aware of the culture of the company you are interviewing for. Dress in a manner which will be acceptable to them. Be watchful not to be excessively trendy (unless it would be appropriate for the company to which you are interviewing) or too far behind the present fashion. A nice conventional medium is usually the best bet.nnBe ready. Just as the Boy Scouts, you should always walk into an interview prepared. There are regular questions that practically every interviewer asks. Have answers to these questions thought out in advance. Being prepared for the interview reveals to the company's representative that you are attentive to details.nnIt's quite simple to become anxious. Breathe evenly and retain calm. This will enable you to focus and pay attention better. Having to ask what a question was is very embarrassing, and likely a death knoll to your new job.nnTake your time. In all likelihood, the interviewer is going to ask a few questions that are not standard, yet relate to the company in some way. It is very appropriate for you to take a breath, gather your ideas, and present a well formed answer. Demonstrating that you care about your answers indicates that you are going to care about the company and your job later.nnDo not fail to remember your manners. When the interview is over thank the individual facilitating it for their time and attention. Once you return home, send them a thank you note for the same things, and emphasize what you enjoyed learning about their company. This also reveals to the prospective employer that you're still interested in the company and reinforces your attention to detail.
